Therefore, we offer sedation dentistry through the use of an oral pre-medication. Triazolam is the treatment option of choice because of its wide margin of safety and numerous advantages. It is usually prescribed in pill form and takes effect about one hour after ingestion. Patients enter into a deep state of relaxation, during which time they can safely undergo dental treatment without fear or stress. We require that patients who receive sedation dentistry have someone drive them to and from their appointment on the day of treatment. The amount/dose that you require will be determined after a careful medical history and health assessment.
