Dr. Joseph Schirru
Meet the Doctor
Dr. Joseph Schirru is a general dentist and the principal doctor at Northtown Dental Centre. He is a lifelong resident of Niagara, born and raised in Welland. He earned his undergraduate degree in biology (with distinction) from Brock University in 1997 and his DDS degree from the University of Toronto in 2001. He has worked in Niagara since graduation, owning and operating a successful family practice in both Niagara Falls and Fort Erie. He is excited to make his final move to St. Catharines, taking over the practice of Dr. Alan Holody (retired) and having Northtown Dental Centre as his new dental home!
Dr. Joseph Schirru is passionate about his work and enjoys the art and science of dentistry, a profession he was drawn to as a young boy. He feels privileged and honoured to play a leading role in the oral health of all patients of the practice. His detail-oriented personality coupled with his strong work ethic and desire to interact with patients of all age groups, make him well-suited to the challenges and dynamics of busy family practice. He provides all phases of dentistry, including the full range of aesthetic (white) restorations for kids and adults, crowns, bridges, veneers, implants, root canals (including molars), complicated extractions, and complete and partial dentures.
A perfectionist in his work, Dr. Schirru takes pride in his "down-to-earth" approach to dentistry, striving to set patients at ease with a relaxed and interactive communication style during appointments. He pledges to provide careful, comfortable, and conservative treatment to all who entrust their care to him.
When not working to make smiles healthier and brighter, Dr. Schirru enjoys weight training, soccer, music, and spending time with his wife and their three children.
